It's normal to experience an average speed loss of about 30% with a track system. Some vehicles may experience up to 50% in speed loss. In exchange, you gain in torque and power at lower gears, which many riders find much more useful than achieving the vehicle's maximum speed.
Track systems are designed for long-lasting, reliable performance. Just like with tires, track system life depends on a number of factors, including vehicle weight, speed, and the terrain you ride on. Regular maintenance will also significantly extend their lifespan.
The odometer overstates your actual mileage and fuel consumption will increase. That said, track systems improve vehicle torque and power, which for many riders is a great tradeoff. When you go out on the trail, be sure to bring a can of gasoline to avoid any unexpected surprises.
Camso track systems are made to support the weight of the vehicle on which they are installed, plus its load capacity as recommended by the manufacturer. Please refer to your vehicle's owner manual for more details.
Camso tracks can be ridden on all types of terrain. It's a good idea to check local regulations and bylaws to see if there are any restrictions.
Camso tracks are designed to be ridden in high gear year-round. That said, when the going gets tough, you’ll want to kick it in low gear for better performance.
